Who is Stephen?

Hello!
I was born in the Bay Area and raised by my Portuguese-immigrant father Oppie and “colonial” mother Cindy. Three younger siblings Rebekah, Jonathan, and David + sister-in-law Natalia.
2010 - I was homeschooled and competing in water sports until college. A “wanderlust” began to take place. The first humanitarian trip to Mexicali had me hooked. Malawi, Russia, and Ethiopia were added to the list of adventures. The “missions” turned into an internal drive in a remote village in Ethiopia after stumbling across a young mother of four whose husband left her to die of TB. The medication was $10. It haunts my soul to this day.
2010-2015 - While working in construction with my father, I hit it off well with one of our clients. Dominic asked if I wanted to learn the real estate market and foreclosure sales. He offered to place me under his wing and teach me the ways. From there I got my REA License, learned how to evaluate/purchase/rehabilitate/optimize/sell homes. In a period of 5 years we had flipped 70+ properties and held onto 30+ properties as rentals. That is about 170 profitable transactions during a “down” market.
2016-2021 - However, I felt a drive to serve people and I wasn’t getting the fix from real estate. I joined the Navy, deployed three times, spent a total of 23 months on the water, and 22 months in the middle east.
2021 - Present - After my injuries limited my usefulness to the military, it became clear that it was time to settle and chase after new long term goals. I began reminiscing back on my gifts and family history. The story of Amaral clicked and the concept of making real estate a soulful event took place. To share in the joy of needs met is only second to meeting the needs. It is my belief to pursue both.
Future - I want to grow this business in a wholistic and generous way. Where clientele are a part of what i’m doing. Possibly open up a property management side that can create a consistent monthly donation for the organizations that need it most.
